About 3d-Radar

3d-Radar was founded in 2001 as a spin-off company from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. The company has pioneered next generation 3D Ground Penetrating Radar (3D GPR) using step frequency radar technology and innovative multi-channel antenna design.

In 2007, 3d-Radar was acquired by VMETRO, a leader in embedded systems and listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange. In October 2008, VMETRO was acquired by Curtiss-Wright Controls and became a Curtiss-Wright Controls Defense Solutions subsidiary.  In May 2014, 3d-Radar became a subsidiary of Chemring Sensors and Electronic Systems. In March 2018 ownership of the company is back with the original founders in Norway and 3D-Radar is extended with own representation in the USA.
