FPGA Design Engineer

3D-Radar is expanding its R&D team and is looking for a creative FPGA Design Engineer with a strong background in system design and Digital Signal Processing. The candidate will be an important part of our development team, improving current FPGA based embedded radar systems, and utilizing latest technology trends to develop the next generations Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) systems. The position will be located at our R&D headquarter in Trondheim, reporting to the CTO.



  • Design, validation and deployment of commercial FPGA solutions for embedded systems
  • Proof-of-Concept studies to validate recent technology trends of RF circuits and System-on-Chip FPGAs
  • Develop creative DSP solutions for high-rate and real-time data acquisition
  • Design and development of low-level software for interfacing with FPGA-based designs



  • Master or PhD in electronics, cybernetics, or computer science
  • Experience with commercial FPGA system design >5 years
  • Experience with high-speed Digital Signal Processing and/or data acquisition
  • Familiar with best practice VHDL design, verification and simulation methodologies
  • Detailed understanding of FPGA hardware architecture, testbench design, synthesis, timing analysis, and clock domain crossing
  • Strong problem solving and debugging skills
  • Experience with embedded Linux systems, and programming in C/C++
  • Team player with good communication skills
  • Creative and Out-Of-The-Box thinker
